The new iPhone SE (2022) is now available for purchase. The new generation of smartphones special edition of Apple presents itself as the most economical proposal in the catalog without giving up power, since it incorporates the Apple A15 Bionic processor, the same as the 13 Pro models.
However, there is another smart mobile phone from the bitten apple with a similar price, the iPhone 11. Although it is already a few years old and therefore does not have the latest processor, its design is more current . That is why doubt about the model to buy may ariseand in Applesfera we will try to dispel your doubts.

Apple iPhone SE (64GB) – Midnight Black (3rd Generation)
Apple iPhone 11 (64GB) – in black
the iPhone SE (2022) is the new smartphone from Apple. It recovers the design of the iPhone 8, which in turn is practically identical to that of the iPhone 6 with some changes, like using glass instead of aluminum. That’s why it is the same as the model launched in 2022 and the novelties are inside.
Integrate the Apple A15 Bionic processor, the same one the company uses in its iPhone 13, along with 4GB of RAM to run the iOS 15 operating system smoothly. This combination of hardware means no compatible app or game can stand up to it. This is its strong point because, in addition to power, it means that its support for updates should last for many years.
It only has a 12MP rear camera, capable of recording high resolution 4K@60fps video. The front is more modest, 7 MP FaceTime HD, for video calls or selfies. Another of the positive points of the iPhone SE (2022) is its compatibility with 5G networks. Although it is not very widespread in Europe, it is a bet for the future. On the contrary, it does not have MagSafe, being a feature reserved for the iPhone 12 and 13.
The iPhone SE (2022) stands out with the Apple A15 Bionic processor and 5G connectivity. Touch ID remains one of its defining elements
Finally, comment that you have Touch ID. The fingerprint sensor has been replaced by Face ID and Face Unlock on all Apple smartphones (except iPhone SE). Whether one or the other is better is more a matter of personal taste, although it is true that with the mask the Touch ID is more comfortable.
Respect to iPhone 11, this Apple smartphone was released in September 2019, so it does not have the most advanced features. Despite everything, its price is similar to that of the iPhone SE (2022) and it has some points that make it very attractive. The first of these is your 6.1-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD display almost without borders. This model has the design that the company has used since the iPhone X, so it looks “modern and recent”.
The screen, being larger, is more comfortable when consuming multimedia content, something to keep in mind if you regularly watch YouTube videos or Netflix, HBO Max or other platforms series/movies. If we compare the dimensions between the models, the iPhone 11 is 150.9 by 75.7 x 8.3 mm and the iPhone SE (2022) is 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm, to have an idea of the size difference.
Inside, it houses the Apple A13 Bionic processor with 4 GB of RAM. Yes, it is not as powerful and new as the A15. And yes, it will likely stop receiving updates before the SE (2022), but if Apple continues to offer around six years of support, the iPhone 11 still has some life ahead of it. And the user may even prefer to renew it before he stops updating.
The iPhone 11 was released in 2019 so isn’t as powerful and software support will end sooner. But it has a more modern design, a better used screen-to-body ratio and Face ID.
In the photographic section we find more differences: dual 12 MP rear camera and TrueDepth front camera with Face ID. Besides the design, one of the biggest differences between the devices is the security system. Face ID is fast and effective even in low light conditions. As I said before, it’s more a matter of taste.

Which iPhone to buy?
The iPhone SE (2022) is a very powerful and expandable smartphone. The main problem is its design. looks old. Let’s remember that the first time Apple used it was in 2014 with the iPhone 6. It was a time when it was normal to see edges on the front of “smart” cell phones, but now it is normal to see foreheads with almost no glasses (not to mention folding ones). It’s not quite fair that this is the price to pay for using Touch ID when Apple implements it in the lock button of several of its tablets.
If you don’t care about design and want a compact, powerful and expandable smartphone with its compatibility with 5G networks, this is a very good buy. If, on the other hand, you prefer the look of the iPhone 13, but don’t want to pay what it costs, the iPhone 11 is quite similar and still has a war to give. Unless you play very demanding titles with graphics set to high, you probably won’t find much difference between the A15 Bionic and the A13 Bionic. And you can take advantage of deals on refurbished or showroom models to get it cheaper.
