A few years ago, Apple surprised with the presentation of its first operating system designed exclusively for the iPad. Until then, iPads used the same iOS as iPhones, but in 2019 the iPadOS was released.
Next fall, a new version of iPadOS should see the light of day, more precisely the iPadOS 15. In principle, we will know its most significant novelties in June during the keynote opening of the next edition of WWDC.
IPadOS 15 compatible devices
Once the iPadOS 15 is available, you can install it on your iPad, as long as it is compatible, of course. The official list of compatible devices has not yet been confirmed, but we can get an idea.
In this sense, we believe that, compared to the previous version (iPadOS 14), the iPad mini 4 and the iPad Air 2, which came with the A8 and A8X chips, will no longer be compatible. All iPads from November 2015 should be upgradeable.
This would be the provisional list of iPads compatible with iPadOS 15:
Obviously, this list would also include any model released this same 2021. In this sense, rumors are circulating about the next arrival of new iPad Pro, iPad mini 6 and new iPad Air and iPad of 2021.
