It is fair to recognize the excellent work of LG with its WebOS and Samsung with its Tizen and every time I have the opportunity to test a Smart TV with both operating systems I repeat: these are interfaces intuitive, pleasant and offer a smooth experience. However, I still stick with Android TV and I have good reasons. To be honest, my TV has Android TV but it still has a Chromecast connected to enjoy Google TV.
Due to the quantity and quality of applications
Yes, if all you want is to enjoy Netflix, Prime or Max (be careful, this has not always been possible easily and immediately in Tizen), the LG and Samsung operating systems are a great option. The problem ? that I I want and need more apps and these are only found in the Google Play Store. This is the main reason.
But there is life beyond streaming apps to get the most out of your TV and in the official store you have options, for example if you are looking for a file explorer. In a word: due to the quantity and quality of compatible applications.
But also sometimes I want more apps that aren’t in the App Store
Bendito Chromecast
Casting content from your cell phone or tablet to the TV may seem like something niche and little used, but no: I use the Chromecast more than I thought and it seems like an essential function. I like it for two things: how well it works and its wide compatibility
The Google ecosystem is huge in terms of software and it is appreciated. After all, I have an iPhone in my personal life but since I have Google applications on my mobile, I can continue publishing content without problem. There are similar functions, but not as widespread or as solvent. The arrival of Chromecast on WebOS has been announced, but for the moment it does not work with either the LG operating system or the Samsung operating system.
