Despite the great options available, I never considered trading in my iPhone for an Android smartphone and here are my reasons.
I’ve never used an Android smartph one as my main device and the truth is that I don’t regret anything. Since 2010, I use an iPhone as a smartphone
If something works, don’t touch it
And The iPhone has never let me down and for this reason, I have never found a reason to switch to another brand. The few times I had an issue it was resolved quickly, like when my iPhone 5 was traded in for a new one a few days after I bought it due to an issue with the unlock button.
Any software issue is fixed within a few days and I’ve never encountered anything it can’t do. Besides, I got used to a lot of things only available on the iPhone, like AirDrop, iMessage, or FaceTimewhich I use daily and would be very hard to lose.
The Apple ecosystem has grown steadily around me
The iPhone 4 was my first Apple device, but for 13 years the ecosystem of apple-based products has grown steadily around me. Two MacBooks, three iPads, two Apple Watches, two AirPods and many different iPhone models have been with me all this time and the synchronization between them is unique.
Really, there is no company on the market capable of offering an ecosystem as connected as Apple. And that makes it difficult to switch from an iPhone to Android, because you would have to change a lot of those devices that don’t have an alternative that works as well together.
Investment in apps, services and accessories
So many years with an iPhone has made the investment around it great. From apps and games you would have to buy again
And that’s not counting the various accessories that are compatible with the iPhone and which will no longer be compatible with an Android smartphone, such as the large number of MagSafe accessories.
Excellent great customer service
Really in these 13 years there are very few times I had to go to Apple’s tech support for a problem with one of your devices. Specifically with the iPhone, I only went once with the aforementioned iPhone 5.
Other than for this reason, I also opted twice for the Apple Watch and once for a MacBook Air. AND on all these occasions the service and treatment was excellent, analyzing my problem and offering me a fully satisfactory solution. And that’s something really hard to find in other brands and one more reason to stick around.
There’s really no reason to switch from iPhone to Android
in 13 years I have never been tempted to change an iPhone for an Android smartphone, despite the fact that there are very good ones, in some respects even superior to the best iPhone on the market. But analyzing the whole, I can’t find sufficient reasons and I would probably lose a lot more than I would gain from the change.
For all that, I’ve never swapped my iPhone for an Android smartphone, despite the fact that I’ve had 9 different iPhone models all these years. Really, it’s not an option to assess everything that would be lost along the way.
