We often talk about the importance of setting strong passwords and being careful when entering our data on a web page if we suspect we are visiting a fraudulent website. Not only is this enough: we also need to make sure that no one is watching us while entering. sensitive informationlike our credit card number.
This is especially important if we are sharing a screen or need to send a recording or screenshot of it, as the result of negligence we may end up disclosing banking information
This is an experimental feature and is not yet available.
As we read in Bleeping Computer, the company is working on a feature for Google Chrome that will hide sensitive information when sharing the mobile screen or recording it. In this way, the browser will prevent us from revealing personal information which could be used for fraudulent purposes.
Currently, Google Chrome already prevents the capture of any type of information when using the Private browsing mode. This is something we can check if we try to record the screen or take a screenshot of the web page we are on: the browser will show a black screen only if we use Incognito mode.
Despite the above, Google Chrome does not establish any type of limitation when using the normal mode. This means that if we accidentally display a field in which our credit card number appears when sharing the screen or making a recording, the information will be visible.
In order to avoid displaying sensitive data when sharing the mobile screen or recording its content, Google Chrome will soon integrate a function capable of Automatically block sensitive contentlike our credit card number or password field.
For now We don’t know when it will be available in Google Chromealthough Bleeping Computer claims that it should reach the experimental version of the browser (Chrome Canary) in the coming weeks. The feature we are talking about already appears as an experimental flag in the browser, although for now it is not functional.
