Not all WhatsApp updates are equally important. Some may change the way you use the messaging app, like sending messages to yourself, while others probably don’t affect you as much.

The news launched today by WhatsApp is one of the latter. None are revolutionary on their own, but all have the potential to be very useful.
More photos than ever on WhatsApp
The most striking change concerns the number of photos we can send via WhatsApp at the same time. Until now, this limitation was 30 photos maximum, which is already a good figure but it can fall short if you want to share all the photos of an event for example.
Now we can send up to 100 photos or videos at a time on WhatsApp for Android. It’s a stark difference and one that will probably meet the demands of most users; and if not, you can always send the photos in several messages.
Another striking new feature is custom avatars. Originally they were born as part of Facebook’s “metaverse”, now Meta, but now they are a curious way to personalize the experience. And it is that we can use these own avatars to create our own stickers or profile photos. To do this, just access the settings and then enter the Avatar section.
Other new features are more modest, such as the ability to add comments to documents or compatibility with subjects and long group descriptions; this will allow us to better describe them.
These new features are already available in WhatsApp for Android, and all you have to do is update the app if you haven’t already.
