Xiaomi and Samsung are preparing two flagship models that will arrive together

Almost all brands have changed their launch schedules, in most cases bringing forward the renewal of their products by several months. The first example of this was seen last January, with the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S24.

And the madness isn’t over yet, with the upcoming launch of the Galaxy S24 FE.

Xiaomi has been quiet throughout this move, but it is perhaps the one that deals the most painful blow to Samsung with the launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. And, according to the latest leak, Xiaomi’s new leading mobile would arrive next Januarythe same month that Samsung’s Galaxy S25 is expected. After the presentation in January, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra would arrive on the market coinciding with the MWC in Barcelona which will take place the following month.

In this way, Xiaomi intends compete directly with the new Galaxy S25 Ultrawhich could change its name and be called Galaxy S25 Note. Whatever they are called, what is clear is that both phones will represent the best of Android; And to this we must add that rumor has it that Apple could start using the Ultra name for its most advanced mobile phone, the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

This “Battle of the Ultra” could be one of the most interesting we’ve seen in years, and all brands will have to do their best if they don’t want to lose embarrassingly. According to the leak published by Yogesh Brar in X, Xiaomi will focus on two key aspects of an Ultra mobile: power and cameras.

On the one hand, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra would use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

which has not yet been officially presented but should begin to be available to manufacturers by the end of the year. It is the most powerful processor available on Android, capable of competing and surpassing Apple processors. The big question is whether Samsung will respond with the same processor, but with the improvements obtained thanks to the collaboration with Qualcomm; if so, Samsung could have the advantage.

As for the cameras, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra would retain a circle-shaped configuration on the back, with four lenses. The main sensor would have a resolution of 200 Mpxand would be accompanied by three 50 Mpx sensors; This would therefore be a leap compared to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and its configuration of four 50 Mpx sensors. But above all, it is a configuration closer to that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which will therefore probably also be used on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
