The next version of Xiaomi’s cape is on its way. Its name would be MIUI 12.5, indicating that it would be a larger set of improvements than usual, as they went straight to version 12.5 of the previous one, that of MIUI 11, ignoring the possible existence a MIUI 12 which is surely no longer makes sense to go to the market.

And as part of this presentation, Xiaomi has counted several of the improvements that have been incorporated in MIUI 12.5 such as the arrival of nature-inspired sounds for notifications and alarm, or as enhanced privacy options that would be incorporated into the layer. Or as a way to sync a Xiaomi mobile and a Windows computer through an application, MIUI +. But it looks like we’ll have some more news, and that news consists of an improved haptic response system.

Vibration when zooming, copying text or changing volume

Xiaomi MIUI 12.5

Cell phones have had haptic feedback for some time. This response is what makes the phone’s vibration motor react when we press a key, or when an app invokes it to improve the user’s sensations. Xiaomi’s goal is to take them to the next level and it looks like will make this new haptic feedback system sensitive to gestures.

Since the development of the future MIUI 12.5, some captures that specifically belong to a new option in the phone’s vibration settings. More specifically, a customizable “haptic feedback” that can not only be adjusted in intensity, but will allow three different response models to be established, all based on the gestures of our mobile phone.

This haptic response from Xiaomi phones with MIUI 12.5 will contain three different models (Crisp, Base and Pop) and each of them will be activated according to the gestures we perform with our device. They will be activated when we copy text on the screen and paste it, when we increase and decrease the volume of the phone or when we press an icon for longer in the account to move it between desks or move it within the same office .

This new haptic response can be turned off at any time just go to the natural response to the keys on the screen, so its use will be voluntary and we do not know if it will be enabled by default or it will be offered to us during the configuration of the phone. For now, it looks like the development of this haptic response is tied to the Chinese MIUI 12.5 ROMs and it will be necessary to see when it is released on International ROMs. We will be attentive.
