Recent processor and hardware to stand out in the mid-range
Xiaomi continues to enrich its mid-range by covering it with new mobile phones, all with a particular predilection for the balance between quality and price. The Redmi Note 13s are the biggest in this segment, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more phones. The Redmi Turbo 3 could be the inauguration of a very prolific family.
Starting with the screen, the new phone joins the trend of 6.67-inch AMOLED panels and a 120Hz refresh rate, but with two details not usually found in the mid-range: maximum brightness up to 2,400 nits for HDR10+ or Dolby Vision content and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Nothing bad.
We said it had a new processor, and it’s true: the Redmi Turbo 3 is one of the first to equip the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a high-end SoC that sits between the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the previous Snapdragon. 8 Gen 2, 2022. Additionally, mobile deals up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. No one would say that it is mid-range, quite the contrary.
Xiaomi forgoes filler cameras to opt for a dual camera module. The primary offers a 50-megapixel sensor with mechanical OIS and electronic EIS stabilization, another uncommon item in the mid-range. The wide-angle camera is based on an 8-megapixel sensor. And to complete it, the Redmi Turbo 3 integrates a 20 megapixel front camera.
It’s time to review the battery: it offers the usual 5,000 mAh, but with a 90W super fast charging (and the charger included in the box). Optical fingerprint sensor under the screen, stereo speakers, NFC and even an infrared transmitter, the Redmi Note 3 is very complete.
Price and availability of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
The mobile phone has just been released in China and, for now, it will stay there. It would not be strange if it arrived in Europe converted into another model (perhaps the basis of the expected POCO F6, instead of the Redmi K70E?), but at the moment nothing is known. And as for the prices, they are as follows.
- Redmi Note 3 12/256 GB. 257.44 dollars at the exchange rate (1,999 yuan).
- Redmi Note 3 12/512 GB. 296 dollars at the exchange rate (2,299 yuan).
- Redmi Note 3 16/512 GB. 322 dollars at the exchange rate (2,499 yuan).
- Redmi Note 3 16GB/1TB. 360.47 dollars at the exchange rate (2,799 yuan).
