If last summer Google Lens allowed you to make queries on a photograph, now it is the same, but with videos. At Google I/O in May this year, Google announced a very exciting new feature for Lens: it would allow users record and upload a short video while asking a relevant question about anything in the video.
In fact, this new feature was found in development thanks to the APK file of the Google app for Android breaking in June, so it was a matter of time
Mishaal Rahman once again revealed that he is now available This new capability allows you to record a short video with a request made vocally or textually in Google Lens. During these four months, Google did not develop any other small details to integrate it into the final version, so it remains as it appeared in June in the application breakdown.
It works in such a way that Google Lens simply opens, Click “Search with your camera” and a long press on the camera shutter button will start recording the mini video clip.
The user can talk to video while recording or type the query after capturing the video clip. A new alternative experience to the many others offered by Google Lens, which has become an essential tool for certain actions, and an excellent travel companion thanks to its simultaneous translation capabilities.
The feature is currently rolling out, although it will depend on whether Google’s AI previews are available in the region, the new improved search with generative artificial intelligence which is not yet widely available as is the case in Europe.
And according to Android Fontthe new Google Lens doesn’t always work as expected, so there is room for error in the consultation carried out through video. As with these queries, the best thing to do is to take your cell phone in hand to perfectly display all the details of the object or environment you want to query on in order to receive the appropriate response.
And as always, Google Lens is available via the magnifying glass button in the widget from Google which is usually found on the mobile home screen. A new experience that should arrive in Europe soon, although it will depend on the insights of AI during its deployment as a new evolution in the technological giant’s research.
