In recent weeks, Google has improved the behavior of its assistant in various ways. For example, we can already say say “Stop!” to Google Assistant to silence it and thus stop using the “Ok, Google” or using the Pixel 6 quick phrases in Spanish.

Today the novelty reaches the Google Home application, where we organize and control all the parameters related to the assistant.

Renaming Routines

Routines, i.e. shortcuts with specific commands or groups of actions, arrived in this program several years ago, but we were never able to give them a name different from the command d activation.

That is, if we had a routine called “I’m leaving my house” that activated lights and vacuums using this command, in the application we would see that it would have the same name.

Now we can change it thanks to the pencil icon that appears next to the name when we enter the edit mode of a routine.

This isn’t a particularly big change, especially since it makes sense to call the routine with the same name as the command, to find out what we have to say, but it’s appreciated that we’re given the possibility of modifying it.

Predefined routines cannot be renamed

Las rutinas predefinidas no se pueden renombrar

Eso sí, hay alguna rutinas, las que vienen por defecto, que no podremos modificar. Podemos identificarlas porque el icono del lápiz no aparece al lado de su nombre.
