Apple has just announced that starting tomorrow, will extend the self-repair program to Macs. A program that will allow Mac users living in the United States to order replacement parts, access repair manuals, and perform their own repairs without having to visit an Apple Store.
Repair a Mac ourselves with all official parts
It is true that auto repair program is not for everyone. Opening a Mac, more depending on the model, is much easier than opening an iPhone, but even so, if we are not sure of our abilities, it is better to continue going to an official service. In any case, at least in Europe, we are still waiting for his arrival.
An arrival that, according to Apple, will take place throughout this year. Since the announcement of the launch of the iPhone self-repair program, which covers the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, we already know that Apple would eventually include the Mac. Now, just over two weeks after the launch of the iPhone 14 and a month after the launch of new Macs, Apple has decided to take the plunge.
For now, the program only covers MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with M1 chips. Although in the future new computers will be added to the catalog. and they will go expand the type of parts, and therefore the repairswhich we can do without having to visit an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
We don’t know which European countries will receive this new program, what we do know is that it will be before the end of 2022, although it is easy to think of a bulk arrival, because once the necessary infrastructure is available, it is relatively simple to offer the service. We’ll see how the expansion unfolds.
