We are still figuring out the long-term implications of generative AIs, both in text and image, and we are already dealing with new versions of these engines. OpenAI introduced GPT-4 in style, powering its chat with several improvements.
GPT-4 officials promise a better understanding of the style of writing we use in our petitions, as well as the ability to compose songs and write scripts. More creativity and collaboration to remove the mechanical work of many more people at a time that we do not hesitate to consider historical: AI is here to stay and sooner or later it will change everyone’s life.
Welcome to multimodal AI: chatGPT-4 accepts images
Perhaps the important novelty, beyond the text, is that GPT-4 is multimodal. This means that tools like ChatGPT will be able to accept pictures and not just text like requests, being able to be more flexible when it comes to generating your results, which for now will continue to be in text form (for generating images we still have Stable Diffusion).
GPT-4 also gains in reliability, being 82% less likely to give inappropriate answers and 40% more able to answer factually. These answers are also simpler, more focused, eliminating the need to generate excessive texts.
On a more technical level, we know that GPT-4 was formed from the same Microsoft server infrastructure as GPT-3.5, powered by NVIDIA A100 chips. The company has already confirmed that Bing uses ChatGPT-4 on its website, Microsoft has been testing this new engine since the start of the change it applied to its browser.
If you want try ChatGPT-4 today, you can try it by accessing the official website of artificial intelligence from your iPhone. The problem: there’s a waiting list you have to join, and once you do, you’ll have to pay to use ChatGPT Plus. The price is a subscription which, including taxes, amounts to $24.20 per month.
From the same OpenAI website you can also access a free version of ChatGPT, but this is version 3.5 and it is not always available. It depends on server load for there to be availability, and user enthusiasm makes it happen in moments.
Another way to use ChatGPT-4 is to sign up to use the new version of Bing, Microsoft’s search engine. All you have to do is go to the site and log in with a Microsoft account (a Hotmail or Outlook email) to enter a waiting list: Over time, expect them to let you access service, although you have to be patient: This type of artificial intelligence uses a lot of resources and the computing power needed to cover all the demand is enormous.
