earlier this week Google launched Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2, the new quarterly update beta that will officially arrive from this spring to add more new features and improvements to its Pixels, but this new version is under development hide future news.
If the other day we saw how Google is preparing a tool that will allow us to convert our physical SIM card to eSIM, now we see how the company is also preparing an important improvement for Android screen recording.
Record a single app, not the whole screen
Screen recording arrived in 2020 on all Android devices with Google’s native implementation in its operating system, and during these three years this feature has not received any improvements, which seems to be changing in a future version of Android.
So far the screen recording option does this, record whole screenwhich means that all notifications and messages we receive while recording appear in the recording, which may change in the future.
The code of Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 hides a new screen recorder, which in a new menu allows us to select the app we want to save or share. This means that only content from this app will be recorded without recording notifications or our status bar.
In the video shared by 9to5Google, we see the interface of the new recorder, where it displays the preview of the recordings in a vertical list. recent appsand if we show the menu we have access to the most used applications followed by all the applications of the device to start recording only for the selected application.
This will protect our privacy, as it will prevent sensitive notifications or other screens that we don’t want to appear, like our home screen, from being saved or streamed. Through | 9to5Google
