IPhones running iOS, iad handling iPadOS, Mac running macOS, Apple TV holding tvOS, Apple Watch holding watchOS … and what about HomePod? It's good to be called something HomePod software, which until now has been a special version of iOS that was modified to work on the speaker. But it seems to have changed.
The 9to5Mac team has read the Software HomePod has gone from being iOS based to tvOS. Since tvOS is also iOS-based, the reality is no different, and users won't see any changes. But the fact that this change has been made shows that Apple is working to optimize its systems as much as possible.
The basis of a reasonable future software with multiple models
From a source it shows something very logical: while iOS is designed to work on battery-powered devices, tvOS is optimized to not work completely on a connected device recently. Understandably, this would serve as the first argument that would allow (among other things) this change. All rules for maximizing use are limited.
Another common issue between HomePod and Apple TV is that both can act as if hub HomeKit platformAlthough the fact that Apple is preparing to introduce new HomePod models soon may be very important. And when an accessory becomes a product range, it's much better to have a good software base from scratch.
