Ads on YouTube will change, and Google wants to encourage subscriptions to its premium service, as announced in its YouTube Brandcast event, and for this it will increase the durati on of its advertisements, and you will not be able to ignore them.
The streaming video platform has advertisements both before starting the videos and during them, although this announcement would affect only at firstand only on televisions.
Google has gotten serious about ads and recently launched its war on ad blockers, which it already blocks to limit their functionality as extensions in Google Chrome.
The announcement will be longer
Before launching the videos on the platform, it is not uncommon to come across a few advertisements, which can last 15 seconds or less.
Now, the company has announced that it will allow advertisers to include ads that are 30 seconds in length if they choose. This duration means that only one commercial will be visible, instead of two of 15 seconds.
As AdWeek gathers, this is a change the company has yet to announce when it officially launches, but this option will be available to advertisers through YouTube Select.
These announcements will be for smart TVs or Chromecast-enabled devices, where they can’t be skipped until they’re finally over. It’s a type of the ad the company dropped in 2018 and that now he would return to the ring.
On the other hand, Google would also evaluate the possibility of adding on-screen advertisements that appear whenever you pause a video. He called it “taking a break from experimenting.”
This would be displayed until the moment you resume reading, and the advertisements would be displayed in the form of a banner ad. There will be a button activated to reject these advertisements.
YouTube shorts will also be subject to change, as the company intends to expand the format’s possibilities when it comes to ads.
It seems that YouTube wants to get the most out of advertising for its videos, and for that, the company has also started taking steps to try to end ad blockers.
In this way, it also encourages users’ interest in their YouTube Premium subscription, since they can avoid seeing advertisements which, from now on, will be longer.
