It’s hard to make this list without mentioning Super Meat Boy. The title was developed by by in 2010 Team meat, then consisting of Tommy Refenes and Edmund McMillen (also known for the now legendary Binding of Isaac). It needs its references to the king of the genre to be meaningful: Super Mario Bros. In addition to similar initials, Super Meat Boy tells the story of a piece of meat whose sweetheart (Bandage Girl) was bought by Dr. Fetus is abducted. So very close to Mario. The game consists of different arrays in which the player must skilfully jump between recorders, creatures and peaks in order to save his soulmate. Be careful though: if it borrows the same mechanic as Mario Bros, it’s devilishly harder than the latter.

Released in 2009, Braid is one of the titles to which we owe the return of the audience’s craze for style games.retroThe title Number None tells the story of Tim trying to win back his beloved.
