If there is something that is current every day in the videogame sector, it is the next generation of consoles. A few minutes ago it was a patent of the PlayStation 5 controller that gained prominence, and now it is Xbox Series X who does it, revealing their Technical specifications. Microsoft was the first to hit the table by revealing the design of the next console at the gala of The Game Awards 2019 and now doing it again demonstrating the tremendous muscle which will boast its most powerful console.
And is that Xbox Series X will be a authentic beast compared to what we have seen so far in terms of consoles. Specifically, it will be twice as powerful as Xbox One X, with 12 teraflops. Among other features that have stood out since Redmond, highlights the raytracing
Xbox Series X, the most powerful console revealed to date
Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division, has always declared his intention to deliver maximum performance in every way with the next generation of Microsoft. And, as revealed today, it seems that in terms of hardware they will meet all expectations. Always waiting for what Sony presents with PlayStation 5. These are the specifications revealed by the company:
-
A 12 teraflops GPU. Twice the power of what Xbox One X currently offers, to bring the new titles to a much larger dimension. The Xbox Series X technology will be built under AMD Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures in respect to its CPU and the GPU itself, so the power will be one of the cornerstones of the new console.
-
Backward compatibility with all previous systems. It was an open secret, but from Microsoft they have already confirmed that Xbox Series X will be backward compatible with any existing Xbox, so it will be able to play the largest library of games that has been seen to date.
-
The long-awaited raytracing. This technology will mark a before and after in the videogame sector, with special emphasis on the use of lighting. From Microsoft they emphasize that it will be a great novelty in console games, thanks to DirectX technology.
-
SSD hard drives and no load screens. SSD storage is another of the great advances of the next generation and will almost eliminate loading times in video games. Regarding Xbox Series X, it will also be an element that allows continuing games that had been suspended without the need for any waiting.
-
Variable Rate Shading (VRS). As we have said before, this new technology will allow greater efficiency for rendering processes, in addition to maintaining the stability in the frame rate, allowing games to be played at their highest resolution without any problem.
-
Smart delivery. This option is intended so that each user can get the best experience with the Xbox Series X video games and other systems. For example, in the case of Halo: Infinite, which will be an intergenerational title, the highest performance in Series X will be taken out, while in Xbox One X the levels will be adjusted to best adapt to that system.
All this, of course, also based on the program Game Pass, which will continue to be of great importance in the next generation of consoles, assuming one of the elements of loyalty and distinction against the competition.
