news culture 15 years later, this Lord of the Rings star rises from the ashes and ends up where we least expected him to be
The least we can say is that the MCU is tight. So dense that it encompassed the majority of Hollywood stars that we even forget some iconic heads: one of them could be back very soon.
Back in 2008
The Marvel Cinematic Universe was established with the first Iron Man and will have actively taken shape through the Phase 1 films, which are iconic to many. The second was specialt The Incredible Hulk, a somewhat special film since it’s the only one dedicated to the character in the MCU… who is also played by Edward Norton, later replaced by Mark Ruffalo.
There’s also another character that we haven’t seen since that feature film (released in 2008, as a reminder): Betty Ross, the daughter of Colonel Ross, who lends her facial features to Liv Tyler. Imagine if the actress appeared to reprise her role in one of Marvel’s next projects.
The Ross family back
At least that’s what The Hollywood Reporter says: Liv Tyler, also known as Arwen from The Lord of the Rings, would very soon be reprising her role as Betty Ross in the MCU for the all-new Captain America movie. The information is made public and it has therefore been fifteen years since we saw the character or actress in the expanded universe.
A return that can make sense because if Hulk won’t be there, General Thaddeus Ross, aka “Thunderbolt”, will be present with a supposedly important role. As early as 2008, the military leader William Hurt, who unfortunately passed away last year, embodied: He is thus replaced by Harrison Ford, who will make his big appearance at Marvel.
as a reminder this Captain America 4 will indeed leave Steve Rogers (sorry) to focus on Sam Wilson, the former Falcon who inherited his best friend’s costume and responsibilities. Anthony Mackie will therefore be the conductor of this new feature film, while some faces of the Disney Plus series “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” will also be there: Carl Lumbly (Isaiah Bradley), Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) or even Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson).
Captain America: The New Order is directed by Julius Onah, to whom we owe 2019 The Cloverfield Paradox, and will hit theaters in 2024.
