The first descendant takes the ascendant
Following the release of The Finals, Nexon further penetrated the serve game with The First Descendant. The South Korean giant actually took inspiration from Destiny to offer its own looter shooter, allowing players to spend hundreds of hours and spend a little money to equip themselves with cosmetic items. Just an hour after its release, The First Descendant already had over 156,000 players on Steam, a number that quickly reached 170,000 in the following three hours. As we write these lines, There are nearly 230,000 concurrent players on Steam enjoying the Nexon title. A feat that allowed him to be among the top 10 most played games on the Valve platform. Not bad!
Destiny, Helldivers and Warframe on the mill
After years of development and a trailer that commemorated its existence during the last Summer Game Fest, The First Descendant is finally available. This free game uses the mechanics of Destiny, Helldivers, but especially Warframe. The gameplay can be summed up as follows: fight to constantly collect new, stronger weapons, improve them and collect the best possible modules. Because yes, as in other titles of the same genre, the crashes are particularly important.
On paper, Nexon’s software seems to have everything it needs to be addictive. As we said in our preview, leveling up is possible across multiple parameters and the sensations are good despite a coughing technique. Whether on consoles or PC, the title still lacks optimization, but patches should arrive soon. We now have to see if Nexon has the resources to provide content that will add a little variety while listening to the already numerous complaints from players.
