2 strong competitors from cult licenses have been announced

The Witcher 4 isn’t even available yet (not by a long shot) and two big competitors are already showing up in Poland. And it looks more than promising. Let’s figure it all out together.

The Polish studio Mighty Koi is preparing to enrich the world of video games with two promising titles: The Night Wanderer and Thorgal. These games immerse players in iconic fantasy worlds and usher in a new era for adaptations of famous European literary works and comics. Enough to compete directly with The Witcher 4. We also suspect that the goal with a project like this is to play (a little) on the same playing field.

Two games that can compete with The Witcher 4

The Night Wanderer is a game inspired by the book series Lord of the Ice Garden by Jarosław Grzędowicz. The game promises to be an immersive experience where players take on the role of Vuko and explore an alien civilization in the Middle Ages. The peculiarity of this world, Midgaard, is its unique atmosphere that mixes science fiction and fantastic elements. Vuko, equipped with a biochip, must solve the mystery of the magical anomalies plaguing the planet.

Thorgal, on the other hand, is an action role-playing game based on the famous comic by Jean Van Hamme, a well-known Belgian cartoonist, and illustrated by Grzegorz Rosiński. The game promises to bring the mythical Norse universe and the adventures of Thorgal into a video game format. Players can experience the captivating stories of the comics. Confrontation with monsters, humans and deities in a world full of myths and legends. So many memories for those who grew up with comics…

Two gems of literature and comics

These games will certainly pique the interest of fans of the genre and could position themselves as serious competitors for upcoming titles like The Witcher 4. The Night Wanderer and Thorgal combine strong narrative elements with dynamic combat systems. It promises to be an immersive yet challenging experience for fans. And both are inspired by fantastic literary works.

With the promise of innovative gameplay and rich stories, these two titles could well become benchmarks in the role-playing and action-adventure genres. Their distinct universes, combining Norse folklore and science fiction, offer players new and exciting areas to explore. In short, the gaming community is eagerly awaiting the arrival of The Night Wanderer and Thorgal. Obviously, I’m excited to see how these beloved universes translate into the world of video games.
