The folks at VGC first reported that qualifying for the 2023 Olympic Esports Series has now begun.
The in-house Olympic committee has announced that the 2023 series will feature nine different virtual sports, all in partnership with international federations and game publishers.
Qualification for the 2023 Olympic Games in eSports begins today, with professional and amateur players from every competition around the world invited to participate. The qualifying round will end on 15 May 2023 and the final will be held in Singapore from 23-25 June 2023.
The nine games in esports at this year’s Olympic Games all coincide with one sport, as follows:
- archery – Tic Tac Toe Bow
- baseball – Electronic Baseball: Power Pros
- chess -Chess.com
- Cycling – swift
- dance – Just Dance 2023
- motorsport – GT 7
- navigation – Virtual regatta
- taekwondo – Virtual Kickboxing
- tennis – Tennis: Clash
The qualifying start date will vary for each event and will follow a different process depending on the competition involved.
What we already know about the Gran Turismo 7 event is that the online time trial will launch in mid-April. Those who complete the track the fastest will be invited to a final in Singapore.
