If you keep up with American Football, you will get another game selection in addition to Madden NFL. 2K Games has now officially confirmed the conclusion of a new partnership with the NFL. The two companies have been working together again for the first time since 2004.
However, the focus of this new cooperation is explicitly on "non-simulation football games", ie the 2K games will not compete directly with Madden. The first game is scheduled for release in 2021. For the NFL, this means expanding their licensed video games, but financial details have not been released in this context.
It won't be a game, because 2K is already talking about several titles. The individual games, their developers and the release dates will only be announced at a later date. However, several projects are currently in an early development phase.
A statement goes on to say that the new titles should focus on "easily accessible fun" and "social experiences". So you should rather look forward to arcade-heavy games.
