2K Games warned customers to change their passwords after an “unauthorized third party” accessed its customer support platform.
According to 2Kcustomer information is available to unauthorized individuals who continue to send emails containing malicious links.
The company warned customers not to click on any links instructing them to reset their passwords if they received an email from support.
If customers have already clicked the link, the company advises people to reset any passwords stored on their web browsers, enable multi-factor authentication where available, and try not to use authentication that relies on text messages; instead, choose application.
Customers are also advised to run or install a reputable virus scanner and check account settings to see if any forwarding rules have been added or changed on personal email accounts.
Meanwhile, 2K has taken its support portal offline while addressing this issue. It will provide a notification when the user can resume interacting with the official 2K help email.
This is the second hacker attack 2K’s parent company Take-Two has faced this week. Just a few days ago, a hacker is currently under investigation by the FBI for leaking a ton of information about GTA 6 online.
Hackers posted 90 videos from the beta version of the game, causing a slew of screenshots and clips to go viral online.
