Sony continues to expand its offering, bringing new games from its PlayStation catalog to PC. While Returnal and The Last of Us Part 1 are about to land on PC, a new popular license has been spotted on Steam. The fans quickly cheered, but disappointment soon replaced excitement.
The Return of a Cult PlayStation License on PC? No, and the fans are disappointed
According to the recent discovery of some ResetEra users, it is the famous license Little Big Planet which should be coming back to Steam soon. A franchise that in particular has made the good days of the PlayStation 3 a real mascot. And after the Sackboy port, that might make sense, except there’s a big catch. It may well be that this is all just trolling.
As some fans claimed reset erathe first three games Little Big Planet were detected on SteamDB, which scans Steam database entries. The games have even been recorded for some time, which is quite strange. The other problem, and last but not least, is that the titles are currently presented as DLC belonging to a specific Gorilla Engine. An application that simply doesn’t exist on the platform and whose logos seem to come out of nowhere.
Bad joke, but fans are dying to check the license
The disappointment is huge for fans who were hoping to see Sackboy again on his first adventures. Many are hoping for the franchise to return to PS5 soon, others would like the first three Little Big Planet be the subject of remasters.
Little Big Planetwas able to mark its time with its original concept. The studio behind the franchise, media moleculein turn, Dreams spawned by transcending the concept it started with the series Little Big Planet. The game was a hit and continues to impress years after its release, but it too didn’t stand a chance of being remastered to PS5 or even ported to PC. Maybe the game will soon get a second life with the PSVR 2 or that it will finally get the rights to a PC port a little later. That’s what fans are waiting for.
For the time being, therefore, no Media Molecule game is planned to return on PS5 or PC. If you want to enjoy LittleBigPlanet 1 & 2, you need to get out your good old PS3. LittleBigPlanet 3 is available for PS4. Sackboy, on the other hand, already had the rights to his solo adventure on PS5 and even a port to PC. A new game is also planned for mobile. It is always taken while waiting for a possible return of the franchise’s old games.
