GDC released its annual industry state survey and found that 34% of developers are making games for current and next-generation consoles.
According to the survey (PDF), while 34% are developing for two generations, 22% say they are only targeting the current platform. The survey also showed that 39% were unsure whether the next book would be released exclusively on the Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5.
That said, developers currently have 11% of their projects under development for PS5, and 9% are targeting XboxX.
23% of developers expect their next game to be released on PS5, while 17% of developers expect their game to be released on Xbox Series X.
Only 5% is specifically targeted at next-generation products, but one-third is expected to launch on current and next-generation products.
Elsewhere in the report, the respondents considered PC (50%) the most interesting platform, followed by PS5 (38%) and Switch (37%).
Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are planned for release during the 2020 holiday. For everything we know about the new consoles, please click on the appropriate link.
