Steam is currently offering a small festival focused on a very specific game genre. And to seduce the skeptics, more than thirty titles are offered for free.
From May 4th to 8th, Steam is hosting LudoNarra Con, a digital festival showcasing a broad showcase of narrative, interactive, and surprising games from all walks of life. The vast majority of them are standalone games, and some even offer original ideas that you rarely see elsewhere. Not only do these titles get the spotlight, but some of them also benefit from big promotions and free trials.
Today, to celebrate the occasion and to tempt the curious, Steam offers more than 35 games to try. More or less long trial versions that will allow you to discover surprising titles.
Future nuggets for free testing on Steam
Among them we note, for example Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Game Musical developed by Summerfall Studios, written by one of the veterans of dragon time and doubled by giant stars that we find in The Last of Us in particular.
Stray gods is obviously not the only small nugget to test, since we can also note the presence of Invincible, a sci-fi narrative game that caused a stir when it was presented at the last Summer Game Fest. There’s also Harmony: The Fall Reverie, the next Don’t Nick that particularly surprised us during our preview, or Goodbye Volcano High, eagerly awaited by fans. And that’s just a small part of what awaits you.

5 must-try games
You can find all these demos directly in your Steam shop. You can download the demos directly from the game sheets and it’s all free. When we’ve listed all the games available here, we’ve picked five in particular that deserve your attention. Each of them offers an atypical experience. Whether through its staging, its narrative, its gameplay or its artistic proposal. While there are other little nuggets in play, we feel that the games in the list below are a must-try at least once. Let us know what you think of it in the comments.
Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical – RPG, Musique et Choix Divins
The game presents itself as a thriller and interactive musical in which there is a murder to be solved among the gods in a modern setting. Not only is the proposal here very original, but there are also some very nice people behind the game. At the pen we find neither more nor less than David Gaider, to whom we owe the universe dragon time
Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, the new Don’t Nod for testing on Steam
After life is strange and other titles of the genre, Don’t Nod returns with a new storytelling game, but not only. The game can not only boast of having an original story based on gods and destinies, but as a bonus it is based on a unique gameplay in which more than ever we will be the decision makers of our future. The choices will be manifold, the possibilities and paths manifold. Don’t Nod seems to have pulled out all the stops for her new baby. In any case, he enchanted us in the few hours we spent in his company.
Goodbye Volcano High, the dino storytelling game for teenagers
Highly anticipated by fans of the genre, Goodbye volcanic high, is the story of several teenagers (dinosaurs, by the way) preparing for the inevitable end of the world. Supported by an atypical artistic direction reminiscent of 90’s cartoons, the game surprises on every level. Although its development has been chaotic, with a full reboot of the experience halfway through and multiple postponements, Goodbye volcanic high
Cryptmaster, a narrative dungeon crawler to try on Steam
cryptmaster is a particularly atypical game in many areas. The game is presented as a dungeon crawler with a roguelite twist, where every action and choice is dictated by words we write ourselves (the game can also be played orally for even more immersion). The game master will then react accordingly to continue their dark theme. Very mysteriously, the title from Akupara Games decides as a bonus for a pencil-like and particularly dark artistic orientation that is reminiscent of certain comics. The characters featured are both disturbing and intriguing, as is the dungeon, which is full of surprises, traps, and puzzles. A title that arouses curiosity. Try it now on Steam.
The invincible, the truth about man
Written by one of the greatest science fiction writers of his time, Stanislaw Lem, The Invincible puts us in the shoes of Dr. Yasna. Lost on the fictional planet Regis III, the scientist searches for her missing comrades by any means necessary. But along the way she will uncover dark, buried secrets and reveal the true truth of human rule. A fascinating, scientific and philosophical science fiction story that tries to make players think. The game surprised its little world when it was announced at the last Summer Game Fest and can be addressed on Steam today. Its release is expected within the year.
