This weekend it will be possible to play four games for free thanks to the Free Play Days offer on Xbox Game Pass. There are three major licenses in total. You get the message, don’t miss it.
A tradition well known to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Core subscribers returns this weekend. These are free play days where you can try out multiple games at no additional cost. So yes, there’s not a lot of leeway, but there’s plenty of time to form an initial opinion on it. If you are motivated enough, you can even make it to the end. Either way, you can do four of them for free this weekend. However, there is a little clarification on two of them.
Four games are free to play on Xbox Game Pass this weekend
Let’s start the hostilities with Black Desert, the “lesser known” of them all. If the name doesn’t mean anything to you, know that it’s an open-world MMORPG. It invites us to discover a beautiful universe designed by the Pearl Abyss studio and with its own engine. On the menu is a grand adventure full of nervous battles, exploration of a rich world and moments of relaxation dedicating yourself to your profession. The success is present on Steam with a good average of more than 53,000 reviews. That’s a pretty damn good score and it’s recommended that you give it a chance via Xbox Game Pass.
Next up we have Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. Do we really need to reintroduce the franchise? Released in 2018, this game tries to break away from the style of its predecessors while offering us a multiplayer experience worthy of the name. Once you’ve assembled your team of 4 players, you can take part in dynamic online battles. On the other hand, it may not be as appreciated as its predecessors, as evidenced by its average on Metacritic, which falls in the yellow. After that, it doesn’t cost anything to try it out thanks to Xbox Game Pass.
We close with Cyberpunk 2077, one of the somewhat special cases of these Free Play Days. Access is free, but only for five hours. After this time, you must go to the checkout to continue the adventure. In itself, this may disappoint some who would have liked to have had the whole weekend to finish it. Still, it remains a great gift from Xbox Game Pass. Now with that said, what’s the final game?
Today’s surprise: Assassin’s Creed Mirage
We end this list with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The latest addition to the franchise that took us to Baghdad alongside Basim. And we can say that he was expected at the turn. For good reason, it doesn’t follow the same model as the one introduced with Origins. Instead, it attempts to return to the franchise’s origins. We don’t necessarily have the impression of going back to the first hours of the saga, but the result is still satisfactory. As proof of this, we have given it a good 7/10 in our columns. So it’s a pleasant surprise to see it on Xbox Game Pass during these free play days.
The problem is that you cannot complete the adventure that the new work offers. Just like Cyberpunk 2077, Xbox Game Pass offers a free trial. The only difference from CD Projekt Red’s RPG is that Assassin’s Creed Mirage only lasts two hours. Compared to five hours, that’s a bit paltry, but still sufficient. Do not hesitate to take your first steps in this “back to basics”, it is worth taking a detour, especially given the many additions it has received.
