Always further, always stronger. Manufacturers always want to go the extra mile to improve their technologies. This time it is the company LG that wants to offer monitors with breathtaking refresh rates by 2022.

Right now (and that’s already standard) the best we can find in terms of refresh rate is 360 Hz with the ASUS ROG Swift 360. But LG and AU Optronics plan to produce 480 Hz d ‘screens by 2022.
1080P / 480Hz = MasterRace?
For LG it would be a 24.5-inch monitor with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and compatible with DisplayHDR 400. The model from AU, more mysteriously, should not exceed 1080p either, because there is obviously a technological limit for all of this: the GPU.
A screen with an excellent frequency is fine, but it is still necessary to have a graphics card with sufficient performance to support speeds up to 480 Hz. For now, it’s very difficult to turn on even with a GeForce RTX 3090. Most games exceed 200 FPS at 1080p.
In short, it’s a bit like the snake dying its tail, and the two concepts are interdependent.
