My ASUS TUF B450-Plus Gaming first saw the gaming light when I pushed the power button on my freshly upgraded PC in the summer of 2018. From the AMD Ryzen™ 7 2700X processor to the AMD Ryzen™ 3950X CPU to the AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900X processor, the AM4 chipset and motherboard have been with me and will continue to do so.
Although “only” in my second PC, because as a hardware enthusiast I always need the latest, but my current AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900X processor still has it all and doesn’t need to hide.
Because although AM4 is no longer AMD’s latest platform, the gaming performance of the AMD Ryzen™ 5000 CPUs is still outstanding and I can enjoy each of my favorite games with the highest settings. I’m glad I chose the AM4 platform back then because every CPU upgrade was super easy and straightforward.
Only a software upgrade for the mainboard was necessary and I was able to use three different CPU generations. This gives me hope that AMD will support AM5 for a similar length of time.
