Do you know that feeling when too much choice overwhelms you? When there are too many different flavors of ice cream, too many exciting vacation spots in the world and too many hobbies to pursue? Instead of deciding on one, do you think about it for a long time, try to take as much as possible with you in a panic and can’t really enjoy anything because of the stress? Tia, then you are like me.
The same problem currently exists with Ubisoft Plus. The subscription service provides you with almost all Ubisoft titles – and is currently free! So for a month you can smell the sweet smell of free games. But a month like this goes by faster than you might think and the dozens of titles you have planned just take up too much time.
So that you don’t get into this dilemma, we asked the editors which 7 games you can play through in a relaxed and stress-free manner. Maybe there is one or the other interesting title for you!
Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Test-Video zur PC-Version des Stealth-Actionspiels
Alexander Bernhardt: There is no Ubisoft series where I would be more excited about a new spin-off. There hasn’t been a new Splinter Cell for nine depressing years! My only solace since then has been playing Sam Fisher in Rainbow Six: Siege (I’m not that into Ghost Recon). Although that’s not entirely true. My other solace is throwing Blacklist back on every few years and sneaking through the levels with wistful glee.
So Splinter Cell: Blacklist has a special place in my heart as you can tell. But there is also a good reason why you should grab the title right now in this free month: the multiplayer mode. In co-op, it’s even better to kill! But you can only enjoy this fun until October 1st, after that Ubisoft turns off the multiplayer servers of some titles – including Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
So grab a buddy, relax and play the co-op missions until October, and then you still have until October 10th to finish the story campaign.
Assassin’s Creed Origins

Assassin’s Creed: Origins – Egypt epic test video
Peter Bathge: You need a maximum of 80 hours to graze Egypt, then Assassin’s Creed Origins is completely played out and you have erased every tiny symbol from the huge in-game map. But what fun is that!
The Witcher 3 was clearly the inspiration for the open-world adventure, with a branched (but hardly influential) talent tree and tons of items to equip and exchange for one another. Because at the same time the focus on meticulously planned assassinations and stealth as in Unity was lost and Ubisoft reduced the spectacle of linear, fully scripted missions in favor of more open-world chaos and the action-packed smoking out of dozens of enemy camps, many hardcore fans of Assassin’s Creed felt like in wrong movie.
However, I found the genre change refreshing at the time and protagonist Bayek is one of my top 3 AC heroes. Especially the little stories in the side missions surprised me positively, because they are sometimes super funny, sometimes deeply sad. And ancient Egypt has probably never looked so fantastic, lively and varied as here. So except maybe in reality over 2,000 years ago.
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc

Mary Marx: I still remember how excited I was about the 3D cover of the Rayman 3 box and how many hours I spent with this game, searching every inch for small things or other secrets. I was accordingly shocked that one (laut How long to beat) just takes between eight and 16 hours to play through Rayman 3 and probably experience one of the funniest and best Jump&Runs again or finally catch up. The humor varies between adult allusions, a bit of horror and lots of silliness. To this day I don’t know what I am from the comments of the knaare should hold…
Many of you will probably already have scrolled down into the comments and expressed your unrestrained love for Rayman 2. And yes, it was good too! But to this day, the creative boss fights from Rayman 3 simply trigger more feelings in me than those horrible rocket rides from the predecessor. The nice thing is: With such a short playing time, you can easily play both parts and then decide which one you like better.
Anno 1800

New World Rising: Anno 1800 gives a foretaste of what awaits you next
Kevin Nielsen: Anno 1800? Play through? I can already hear the skepticism and see the questioning faces right in front of me. Anno 1800 is of course an endless game and actually there is no real playthrough, I’m aware of that.
Nevertheless, playing through Anno 1800 can definitely be defined. At this point, I equate unlocking and building everything possible in Anno 1800 as a playthrough. Others might consider just reaching the New World a playthrough.
The “closing” of Anno 1800 is therefore above all a question of your own parameters. Accordingly, the free month of Ubisoft Plus offers enough time to play through Anno 1800 and experience the construction hit in its entirety. Even in its full strength, because the edition of Ubisoft Plus is the visionary edition of Anno 1800. So the complete edition with all previous season passes and their contents.
The settlers 7

The Settlers 7 – Test Video: Fast-paced strategy sequel
Fabiano Uslenghi: Yes, Siedler is currently a red rag for many. But let’s just forget the mistakes of today and take a look back. Some settler fans would certainly recommend classics like Settlers 2 or 4. But I want to warmly recommend Settlers 7 for this article. Because Settlers 7 is the most modern part of the series so far, which still sees itself as a pure construction game. While The Settlers 5 and 6 have already fallen into the RTS traps, the planned sequel to The Settlers 7 has drawn so much anger that the game no longer really belongs to the series.
And currently it almost seems as if the new settlers are hardly doing any better in this area. It’s not going to be a build-up game. But oh, I said yes, we want to forget the present. So back to The Settlers 7. The construction game doesn’t always look like a classic settler, but with its sectors and victory conditions, it is still as strategically demanding as it is varied and always finds ways to give even beautiful builders a little creative freedom.
Above all, The Settlers 7 even has a classic single-player campaign. A heartfelt story about the kingdom of Tandrien and its search for a new queen is told here with a lot of dreamy charm. So make sure you use the free month to keep yourself entertained for a few hours with this relaxed building game and to think back to better settler times.
Valiant Hearts

Valiant Hearts: The Great War – E3-Trailer
Phil Elsner: The First World War is usually staged in games like a Michael Bay film: Lots of pathos, mass battles, explosions, the main thing is that the staging is right. But only a few titles really take human destinies into account. One of the few big exceptions is Valiant Hearts: The Great War – and that’s exactly why you should definitely take the six to eight hours to play through this very special game. Admittedly, Valiant Hearts doesn’t require you to have a good aim or particular responsiveness, nor do you have great tactical skills. It’s even quite undemanding in terms of gameplay.
In return, you will experience a unique and extremely emotional story about the horrors of war, family, love, heroism and despair. I don’t want to go into any more detail due to spoilers, but one thing is certain: Valiant Hearts tells one of the most brutal stories about people who cannot escape war that I have ever experienced. And brought me to tears. It’s startling, exciting, emotional and if you haven’t played it yet, start the free download, you won’t regret it.
By the way, a sequel is currently in the works, even if it only appears as part of the Netflix subscription:

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey – Test video: Huge open world, huge fun?
Christian Schwarz: What? Complete Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in just a month and you want it to be “relaxed” too? Yes – if you tick like me!
So it was in the year of the Lord 2020 that I finally took the trip to Egypt from Assassin’s Creed Origins, which I had been putting off for far too long. Why? I wanted to immerse myself in the game like a careless wanderer in dangerous quicksand. I wanted to take my time and just focus on this game. After a good 80 hours, I was thoroughly and deeply impressed by this intensive, because very concentrated gaming experience.
Immediately after the credits rolled, I grabbed Odyssey and continued the spectacle! After a good 100 hours this time with all the extensions and the platinum trophy, I happily put the controller aside. Although the repetition of many tasks became a bit too much for me towards the end, I got the intensive and immersive gaming experience I wanted.
Danke, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey!
Because of this game, I’m no longer afraid of Games as a Service
Hence my recommendation: If you think something like me and you like playing through games “in the tunnel” and you can also do something with open worlds and Assassin’s Creed, I recommend a one-month vacation in ancient Greece including island hopping and a party boat. If you don’t have a completion fetish, you can simply limit yourself to the story missions – and then maybe have a little more time to perceive the really beautifully designed world more consciously (and also to capture it thanks to the photo mode).
