76 games added to Xbox for backward compatibility, 37 games get FPS Boost

To celebrate its 20th anniversary Xbox, Microsoft announced in its celebration live broadcast that it will add 76 new games to the backward compatibility library today, November 15.


Highlights in this huge list include the entire Max Payne series, all FEAR series, Timesplitters 2 and Future Imperfect, Skate 2, Dead or Alive Ultimate, 50 Cent: Blood on teh and Star Wars Jedi Knight II.

Every game on the list (you can view it in full below) will benefit from Auto HDR. In addition, the resolution of the original Xbox game has increased by 4 times on Xbox Series X and Xbox One X (3 times higher on Xbox Series S, which is still impressive), and resolution has increased on Xbox One and One S 2 times.

In addition, 37 games today use FPS Boost mode. If you don’t know what this means, FPS Boost is just a feature that uses multiple methods that almost double the original frame rate of the selected title. This produces a higher and more stable frame rate, making the game visually smoother.

To see if the game you are playing is running FPS Boost or Auto HDR, you can click the Xbox button on the controller in the game, if these features are enabled or not.
