That is why in 2024 it is time to celebrate its 85th anniversary in style.
Like every August after every year that follows, the company will publish a huge one-shot that will compile the great Marvel myths in a single volume. Marvel 85th Anniversary Special is the name given to a project that will feature writers of enormous caliber, both new stars of storytelling and authentic established figures.
Ryan North, Alan Davis, Christopher Priest, Iman Vellani, Sabir Pirzada, Steve Skroce, Josh Cassara, Stephen Byrne, Kaku Yuji and Carlo Pagulayan are some of the names that will participate. The stories that will be shown will send us towards a very distant future for Marvel and for us, because the events will take place in the 85th century. At that time the exploits of the heroes of the Marvel Era are the stuff of legend, but we will have to relive them.
For example, it will be told how the mythical Contest of Champions ended the Age of Heroes, Ms. Marvel’s greatest triumph or the last unknown feat that the British supergroup Excalibur carried out. A magnificent 75-page tour that we can get our hands on starting August 28.
