game news 94% positive reviews and Steam’s top weekend sales: the nugget no one was expecting
The video game industry is so rich that dozens of games come out every week without finding a place in the sun. And then, sometimes, at the end of an experience, a song that no one expected ends up at the top of the charts. This just happened to a Spanish horror production.
An exciting horror game
In the world of video games and other areas of cultural activity, there are sometimes short-lived fads. There was a time when rhythm games were ubiquitous, and we were entitled to an avalanche of open-world games or experiences where zombies copied each other. After a while, the sentence is final: players get tired and try to renew their toy library. However, if there’s one genre that manages to cross generations with insane naughtiness, it’s the horror game! Since its first steps on microcomputers in the 1980s, this category of works has survived the decades without a wrinkle. There’s only one that just landed on Steam and it’s obviously trying to get everyone to agree. The Outlast Trials, as it is nicknamed, puts the player at the center of a multiplayer arena survival game.
Death on the heels
Red Barrels, The Outlast Trials game remake is available after a long wait. Currently the title is only in Early Access on PC, but fans of the genre with a decent computer can enjoy it. The game revolves around horror in the midst of the Cold War. Human guinea pigs are inadvertently recruited by the Murkoff Corporation to perform brainwashing and mind control tests. In this world of distrust, fear and violence (the series is as trashy as can be), the participants, whether alone or in groups, are put to the test to gain the right of hope to leave this morbid place. Therefore, players must work in squads with the sole aim of surviving while paying attention to their health, stamina and mental psyche.
