Another major console-exclusive service game on PS5 has once again fallen victim to leaks, and after the interstellar failure of Concord, there is cause for concern.
Despite the colossal and historic failure of Concord, which was canceled just two weeks after its release, the PS5 is still waiting for another major similar service game as a console exclusive. However, even though the situation in his studio is not good, some employees obviously had to express certain things. And things are not looking particularly good for the future of this title, which has already been delayed several times.
Is the PS5 preparing for another belly marathon?
In addition to continuing work on Destiny 2, Bungie is developing behind the scenes a return to his first love with Marathon, a priori expected for 2025 on PC and PS5. Remember that the talented studio recently suffered a wave of layoffs. Morale in it therefore does not seem to be in the best shape and some developers were visibly upset. They contacted Paul Tassi of Forbes and shared more details about this multi-service FPS game, with hints of a hero shooter. Did anyone in Concord say something similar?
The upcoming title for PC and PS5 would also, like Concord, be launched at a price of 40 dollars including the Battle Pass and in-game store. Its development would apparently be too advanced to back down towards a free-to-play model. In any case, it would be another hero shooter with different characters with their own characteristics and skills. We should be able to evolve them through talent trees, passive bonuses and implants. It’s also about recovering weapons and other loot during matches, something we can also improve.
Everything will have a very futuristic artistic sci-fi direction, as seen in the marathon announcement trailer released last year. After numerous postponements, the title would definitely arrive on PC and PS5 during 2025, with the actual presentation scheduled for spring. While the failure of Concord is still fresh in people’s minds, will this PS5 console exclusive from Bungie have a happier fate? At least that’s all we wish for this talented studio that has been showing worrying signs of poor health lately.
