Relations between Prime Video and Henry Cavill continue to evolve with the announcement of a big surprise from both parties.
While Henry Cavill initially teamed up with Prime Video to oversee adaptations of Warhammer 40,000, a new collaboration between the two parties is emerging here. The actor, known for his roles as Superman and Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series “The Witcher”, will take on an important role in a new project produced by Amazon.
Henry Cavill on a new front for Prime Video
After a hilarious cameo in Deadpool 3, Henry Cavill is set to return to Prime Video to take on a much more prominent role in a new production from Amazon MGM. Even though this isn’t a well-regarded adaptation of Warhammer 40,000, we can still see a certain parallel to the newly announced project. The actor joins the cast of another live-action adaptation: Voltron.
As a reminder, this is originally an American animated series created in the 80s. In it, a team of space explorers sit at the controls of vehicles that can combine to form a giant mecha. Any similarity to Gundam and Transformers in particular is obviously completely coincidental (or not). In any case, Henry Cavill teams up once again with Prime Video, which has assumed his proud services for this new film. Young talent Daniel Quinn-Toye (Romeo and Juliet) will also join the cast.
The film is directed by Marshall Thurber, best known for the Netflix hit Red Notice. Filming for this live-action adaptation of “Voltron” will take place in Australia. If we don’t already know the script, the most we know is that it is also being written by Thurber with the help of Ellen Shanman. Of course, since production on the film has just begun, you’ll have to wait to see the result exclusively on Prime Video.
