For once, a new secret has just been discovered in the role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077, and it was completely by accident. As it turns out, the title still has many surprises in store.
It’s no surprise, but many games are full of secrets left behind by the developers, especially when it comes to very large RPGs like Cyberpunk 2077. In the case of CD Projekt, the latest game continues to hold some nice surprises. So one player made a curious discovery.
Cyberpunk 2077 still has surprises in store
A Cyberpunk 2077 player recently discovered a hidden button in Night City that turns off all the streetlights in the area, creating a unique nighttime atmosphere. This find was shared on Reddit by user Aggressive_Seacock, who posted a video showing off this surprising feature.
The video begins with the player approaching a yellow box on the sidewalk with an LED display reading “Press after dark” above a red button. When the player presses the button, the message changes to “Turn off the lights, the party’s over.” And gradually, Night City’s streetlights go out, plunging much of the city into darkness.
Although the street lights are turned off, other light sources such as advertisements, sidewalk decorations, and the city’s many towers remain lit. Bars, clubs, and traffic are unaffected by this blackout, suggesting that this button primarily provides a visual change without affecting gameplay.
The Button is located in the Westbrook District, one of the six main districts of Night City. Aggressive_Seacock explains that after pressing the button, he drove around the city and confirmed that all the street lights were indeed turned off. This feature could be particularly interesting for late-night gamers looking for a more intense and darker gaming experience. And that’s certainly not the only secret left to discover in the game.
