A decision by BioWare regarding Dragon Age 4 is already dividing and worrying fans who are waiting for Mass Effect 4, which is unfortunately still a long way off.
Three years after the first official teaser, BioWare has been deafened by radio silence surrounding Mass Effect 4. But that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about what might happen in this highly anticipated sequel. But a controversial decision regarding Dragon Age 4 has left them perplexed and even fearing the worst for the return of the iconic space opera license, which may not be released until 2029 or 2030.
A real Mass Effect 4 or would you prefer a new Andromeda?
Because Dragon Age 4 represents a clear departure from previous games in the license, BioWare has decided that only three player options in Inquisition will have an impact on the story. Aside from a host of other difficult decisions made in the last and previous works. However, some iconic characters from the franchise will return, such as Morrigan. However, fans fear that this will only come in the form of simple cameo appearances. Based on this observation, they fear that BioWare will do it again with Mass Effect 4.
In the legendary Shepard trilogy, players actually influenced the story of each of the three games tremendously, as their decisions had a major impact on the entire story. Andromeda, in its capacity as a spin-off, has decided to almost give a clean slate to all this and move its story to another galaxy, with a result that was very disappointing. This leaves fans wondering whether Mass Effect 4 would ultimately follow the same path and therefore not be a true canonical sequel to the trilogy.
Since BioWare has released very little information about Mass Effect 4 apart from a teaser three years ago and a few images, there is room for doubt. However, we know that Liara T’soni will be present, as well as the Geth and even the Reapers. However, the extent to which their role will influence the future is no less certain. According to fan analysis, Mass Effect 4 could even mix the original trilogy and Andromeda. But Shepard may not return since his original female voice hasn’t been contacted to take on the role yet anyway. BioWare could finally push through one of Mass Effect 3’s endings, going against the grain of what the studio was used to us up to that point. Since there’s nothing better, we’ll have to wait (probably a long time) for official information in the hope that it reassures fans.
