The devastating nerf before Destiny 2: Lightfall launch day left Titan players heartbroken and distraught, with one of their best exotics much weaker.
In the hours leading up to Lightfall’s release, it seems like the new content for Titan is lagging behind, as the rest of the class is largely untouched in terms of Exotics. Hopefully some new alien species can fill in the gaps.
The Exotic in question is the Heart of Inmost Light, which used to be a staple of PVE builds due to its powerful ability to enhance the strength and regeneration of the entire kit. So, for example, by using your grenade, the obstacles you place afterwards will be stronger.
As you can imagine, this makes the Heart of Inmost Light a versatile and highly sought after piece of equipment! It’s in this context that you can understand why some Titan players are so salty. According to the patch notes, your ability buff duration has been reduced from ten seconds to five seconds, a 50% reduction! Additionally, PvP and PvE regeneration rates have been reduced. It was a rough blow.
This is clearly done to make it harder to get stacked buffs in PVE content, which either cause devastating damage or provide incredible protection from incoming damage. However, this rationale hasn’t stopped the community from feeling frustrated, as they’ve resorted to making memes to get through their grief.
“It’s like they’re nerfing everything based on usage…except Ophidians, since that’s all Warlocks in PvP,” wrote user Fragmented_Logik on the Destiny 2 Reddit. They’ve been supported by a number of other users, including TimmothysFruad, whose post “Titans in shambles while Warlocks and Hunters are getting the goodies” currently sits near the top of the subreddit.
All in all, Exotic is the more popular one, and it’s nice to see some others shine in its place. I? I’m starting to use the Actium War Rig and Sweet Business combo again, at least until I get something new and exciting.
Let us know below, will you switch into another Exotic armor and try something new in Lightfall?
