Marvel’s Avengers, the gaming service published by Square Enix, will be entitled to major changes after a radical decision. We have two good news and one very bad news for you.
If Crystal Dynamics has just announced excellent news regarding its next Tomb Raiders, it also has much less good news to share with us regarding Marvel’s Avengers. A drastic decision will change the game once and for all. But there is still very good news in all of this.
Marvel’s Avengers, disassembly!
It’s over, the rumors were true, Crystal Dynamics just released a short film Article and a small one FAQ to announce the end of the Marvel’s Avengers sequel. Not so surprising news. Since its release in 2020 Marvel’s Avengers tried everything to save the furniture after the particularly cold reception from the press and players. Unfortunately, the game hasn’t had the expected success due to mechanics considered routine, its not-so-fantastic content, and a poorly dosed service game system that has undergone several major changes, both positive and negative.
Surely it wants to focus its resources and efforts on its other projects, like the next and much-anticipated one Grave robbers, the studio now owned by Embracer has decided to sever ties with its Avengers. A final content update will be deployed on March 31st and after that it will be over. A team will be responsible for a few more months until the technical surveillance Marvel’s Avengers September 2023 will be completely abandoned.
Online events and other regular challenges will automatically rotate every two weeks, but there won’t be anything new to dig into.
There is still very good news
although Marvel’s Avengers is permanently terminated, all single player content and its multiplayer components will remain available. You can therefore always play with your friends or catch up if you haven’t been able to play the game yet. As a bonus, to celebrate the occasion and to thank its fans, Crystal Dynamics has announced that all cosmetic content in the game is now for everyone player free. The paid shop will also be closed once and for all and the credits acquired will be converted into resources. The studio has also provided a table to give you an idea of what you get in exchange for your in-game money.
