The excitement was great when Queen Daenerys Targaryen was seen with a coffee mug in a finished episode of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones. Now the Star Wars series The Mandalorian is plagued by a comparably fatal film error: In the background of Chapter 12: The Siege is to see a member of the crew.
Instead of director Carl Weathers, who appears in the TV series as Greef Karga himself, to twist a rope, many Star Wars fans are much more amused about it. Affectionately christened “Jeans Guy” or even “Admiral Jeff Blue-Jeans”, one or two viewers would like to recognize him as part of the new Star Wars canon.

What happened?
But back to the beginning: What exactly happened? On November 20, 2020, Chapter 12: The Siege, the fourth episode of the second season The Mandalorian, was released on Disney Plus – and particularly attentive viewers made an interesting discovery.
In the scene about Minute 20:23 , in which Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), Cara Dune (Gina Carano) and Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) shoot their way through the imperial base, a member of the crew can be seen for a brief moment: In the background is an employee in T- Shirt and jeans, whose face is not recognizable, but instead his watch.

How do fans react?
On social networks such as Twitter, the discovery caused more enthusiasm than great outrage – quite the opposite of the notorious coffee mug scandal at the time of Game of Thrones.
Instead, the fans are much more likely to let their creativity run free here and dedicate an action figure design to The Mandalorian’s Jeans Guy, for example, in the style of official Star Wars toys from the 70s and 80s. For it stood out among other things Bryan Ward responsible on Twitter.

Jordan again designed a character poster for Jeans Guy, which is based on the official promotional material for the second season of The Mandalorian:

Other fans of The Mandalorian have found their perfect Star Wars cosplay thanks to Jeans Guy. After all, the costume comes with relatively little cost or effort:

It will of course be exciting to see if Jeans Guy has a bright future in the Star Wars universe. Who knows: maybe we didn’t see the Star Wars character for the last time against our will?

By the way, articles in the Star Wars wikis hit a similar line Wookiepedia or StarWarsFandom Admiral Jeff Blue Jeans or Jeans Guy, after the terms trended on Twitter, among other things. However, these entries in the Star Wars databases did not last long – they have since been removed.
How the film error came about in the latest episode, The Mandalorian, and whether the episode may be replaced on Disney Plus is currently not known – at the moment Disney has not yet commented on it.
