A Final Fantasy VII Remake easter egg connects your universe with that of Final Fantasy X

Over the years and since the release of Final Fantasy X-2, fans have theorized that the universes of two of the best Final Fantasy in history are connected. There are many who believe that Final Fantasy X is a kind of prequel of a world that several generations later would become that of Final Fantasy VII. Aside from the similar messages about life energy, beliefs, and so on, there is a character that sets off alarms.

And while some fans may think that his name is a simple wink, the character shows an intention to somehow channel the power of the world to generate energy, which in Final Fantasy VII ends up being the Mako. The creators of both games have always played with the possibility of these connections, but it seems that in Final Fantasy VII Remake the final step has been taken.

Kazushige Nojima, writer of both Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy VII Remake, as well as Motomu Toriyama, director of Final Fantasy X and co-director of Final Fantasy VII Remake, are two key pieces in both universes and their participation in the latter together with this Easter Egg may have given us the clue we needed for confirmation.

As we see in the Tweet of All Games Delta, Final Fantasy X-2's tiny Shinra appears somewhat larger in an image commemorating the founding members of Shinra, the Final Fantasy VII electricity company, in one of the paintings that we can see during the protagonists' visit to the Shinra tower during Final Fantasy VII Remake.
