The Silent Hill movie finally unveils a first trailer and it’s very promising. However, some fans don’t like it at all… Apparently, Konami is very controversial with the return of its horror license.
During the last PlayStation State of Play, the big Konami star stopped by to tell us some big news. Silent Hill 2 Remake will be released later this year, and it won’t be alone. The film adaptation of the second game in the series is also coming to theaters.
First trailer for the movie Return to Silent Hill, cardboard or damp squib in your opinion?
While Silent Hill Transmission, the film Return to Silent Hill A few images have leaked out, but nothing really concrete. However, its director Christophe Gans, who was already behind the camera on the first film in the series in the 2000s, had sold us some dreams. A return to homemade special effects, as little CGI as possible, a creepy, faithful atmosphere and a lot of macabre poetry. Real Silent Hill as a result.
When Konami showed us the first teaser of the film tonight, it’s fair to say that fans were overjoyed. We can see a few seconds straight from the feature film and the atmosphere is impressive. Gans’ first film was actually quite successful on this level.
However, reactions are currently quite mixed. While some are excited to learn more about the film, other fans are already comparing it to an amateur YouTube film or a cosplay competition.
In the casting, Jeremy Irvine (who is used to horror films) will play James Sunderland, while Hannah Anderson (The purge, puzzle) will play Mary. Return to Silent Hill is therefore expected later this year, but does not yet have a release date. However, if the trailer has just been shared, the big trailer should not be too long in coming…
