CD Projekt RED has finally revealed a preview of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, the Cyberpunk 2077 spin-off anime planned exclusively for Netflix. So what happens?
The collaboration between Netflix, CD Projekt Red and animation studio Trigger is becoming increasingly apparent. Set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, the series took advantage of the Netflix Geeked event and Summer Game Fest 2022 to unveil a first trailer and announce the release date.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners will be divided into 10 episodes that will air on Netflix in September 2022. The anime will narrate the daily life of a young teenager from Night City who somehow tries to survive in this ruthless city for the most disadvantaged. Where violence and genetic changes are the order of the day, the little galley slave decides on the career of an edge runner. In other words, he becomes a mercenary in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.
At the helm of this adaptation of the Japanese animation version is an industry-renowned studio: Trigger. Everything is overseen by big names like Hiroyuki Imaishi or Masashiko Otsuka. We owe them Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, Promare, and even Neon Genesis Evangelion for a while. The soundtrack will be autographed by Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka. With such a beautiful project, we would almost forget the debacle surrounding the launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
