To properly prepare for its release scheduled for December 6th, the free-to-play hero shooter Marvel Rivals developed by NetEase is full of strong announcements.
After several phases of testing, Marvel Rivals is finally preparing to release version 1.0. NetEase seems to have pulled out all the stops for its title to establish itself in the very closed hero shooter market. In a video called Dev Vision Vol. 2, the Chinese studio shows how much with numerous announcements. Presentation of new maps, various features or even a first balancing patch before release, here you will find out what you should pay attention to.
Marvel Rivals shares its new vision ahead of release
Marvel Rivals wants to succeed where Concord and Sony have forcibly cut their teeth: it wants above all to make life difficult for Overwatch and Team Frotress 2, the two main leaders of the hero shooter genre (while they wait for Valve's deadlock) . They can rely on the very popular Marvel license and its well-known superheroes. Their respective skills and powers seem to have been quite well-suited to a multi-nerve game, encouraging cooperation and unbridled destruction of the environment.
Speaking of which, the studio behind Marvel Rivals revealed the five as-yet-unnamed maps that will make up the eight maps available when the game launches on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series on December 6th. So we have Birnin T'Challa (Domination mode) and Hall de Djalia (Convergence mode), inspired by Wakanda. Next comes Hell's Paradise, Hydra's base (Domination) in a volcano in Antarctica, then Klyntar (Convergence) on the planet of the symbiotes and finally Tokyo 2099 (Conquest).
NetEase's presentation also indicates that many features inherent in a multiplayer game of this type will be present at launch. In particular, we can indicate a training ground or the statistics of each hero on its official website. Finally, Marvel Rivals will welcome a new hero upon release, bringing the number of characters available at launch to 33.
A patch to correct some dimensional errors
In addition to showcasing the content that will be available when Marvel Rivals launches next week, NetEase also announces that this will come with a “Day One” patch of sorts. Various elements of the game are considered, such as balancing or corrections to improve the overall experience. In particular, in the first field we have a nerf for Magneto and buffs for Jeff and Loki. This balancing is based on statistics collected by the Chinese studio during the previous beta test.
Finally, the visual and audio aspects of Marvel Rivals will see some adjustments. On the one hand, better animations and overall better readability of the hectic events on the screen or the user interface. On the other hand, a more sophisticated mix to make the “approaching dangers” in the midst of the chaos jewel more audible. It now remains to be seen whether the public will be present at this, on paper, quite promising meeting.
