A cult installment in the Zelda saga is unveiled in an absolutely gorgeous version, and you can try it now for free! The detour is really worth it.
When it’s time to take stock of this year, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will certainly help us feel that the 2023 vintage was terrific. The Breath of the Wild sequel lived up to expectations, and it’s safe to say they were particularly high on the part of the community. The good news is that after traversing the length, breadth, and height of Hyrule, you can now play the remake of an iconic Zelda.
A Zelda episode like you’ve never seen before
TThe Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is one of the most popular episodes of the saga of all time. It therefore seems quite logical that a modder called CryZENx should devote a large part of his time to a remake of this cult title. He’s been working on this particularly ambitious project for more than seven years, starting on Unreal Engine 4 before moving to Unreal Engine 5 last year when Epic Games released the engine.
A few days ago this enthusiast shared a 15 minute gameplay sequence from his remake of Zelda Ocarina of Time inside the Deku Tree on his YouTube channel. Note that this demo, which was only available by paying for a Patreon subscription, is now free to play for everyone and features a photo mode as a bonus. To download it, it’s very simple: just go to Here.
A remake and another game in the saga at the end of the year?
The modder states that the cult dungeon from Zelda Ocarina of Time The version playable in the free demo is not complete yet and a second part will appear later. Remember that the action-adventure game developed by Nintendo is already more than twenty years old and saw the light of day in 1998 on the Nintendo 64. Since then, the title has been eligible for various ports and a remake on the Nintendo 3DS The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.
Developed by CryZENx, the mod should cause a stir among the many fans of this cult episode, at least until Nintendo gets into the business. In fact, the publisher is not particularly fond of projects of this type and does not hesitate to undermine them. In addition, players could get a new one zelda before the end of the year, as recently suggested by journalist Jeff Grubb. There’s a good chance it’s another remaster of an old episode that could appear in the next Nintendo Direct.
