Well, we know that Minecraft likes to be the setting for impressive buildings from other film and game worlds. But the WesterosCraft project lifts the subject into completely new spheres. For ten years, over 400 enthusiastic fans have been working the entire continent from the fantasy epic Game of Thrones to recreate. And you can’t just explore it for a spectacular walk – the result is a full-fledged MMORPG.
So far, that has been in WesterosCraft
The foundation stone for WesterosCraft was laid on November 13, 2011. For over 10 years now, over 400 members have been building the Seven Kingdoms, which are now over 70 percent complete. So far, they cover over 1,300 in-game square kilometers, making them larger than all of Rome. From Königsmund to Storm Cape to Sonnspeer, all large and small places from books and series have been recreated down to the smallest loving detail.

The goal: a huge open-world role-playing game
WesterosCraft should be more than just a feast for the eyes for Game of Thrones fans. It should a fully playable online role-playing game bid as soon as the complete map is ready. In addition, the developers tell on their website about their ambitions to make Westeros the “largest and most detailed Minecraft world that has ever been built.” The lands of Essos, east of Westeros, are also still on the agenda.
Developing a complete role-playing game in the Minecraft engine is absolutely possible, as the huge Harry Potter MMO Witchcraft & Wizardry impressively proves:
