Housings for gaming PCs are a special topic. In the past, people were quite virtuously satisfied with the fact that only the inner values counted, and put their newly acquired Geforce 2 MX 400 in a gray box, which at most was individualized with a few cool stickers.
Today the world looks completely different and virtuosos of the digital play instinct want to express their passion not only in the form of the most potent hardware possible, but also through the most chic housing possible. Black is the new grey. Aggressive design, RGB gimmicks, viewing windows, LED displays – in the eyes of many gamers today, it’s hard to imagine life without them.

But that didn’t go far enough for a Brazilian hobbyist. He decided to ship his PC hardware to a place that’s usually reserved for all sorts of delicacies like Mom’s meatloaf from the day before.
When the microwave becomes the gaming hub
Twitter user Jake Lucky, who also wants to know the story behind this work of art, drew attention to the unique case mod. According to his descriptions, the hobbyist lost his job during the corona pandemic, but apparently did not want to do without new hardware. His girlfriend then loaned him the money to buy it, $900 to be precise.

In order to lower the purchase price a bit, the hobbyist decided not to buy a PC case, but simply put the new parts in his discarded microwave. Of course, it no longer does its intended job, because during a round of Warzone 2 you can also warm up food without having to leave your desk – that would just be too good to be true.
Marvel at the microwave PC from all sides: Of course, the microwave has RGB lighting, this feature now seems to be simply essential. But we don’t want to tell you too much, because you can see more pictures of the creative result in the following tweet:

Incidentally, Jack Lucky is now working with a company to make the couple a dual-microwave PC, which would be a fitting ending to this entertaining, fun tale of the tech world.
We can still top that, right? After all, the GameStar community is known worldwide for being just great. We’d bet our Starfield ticket that you have cases under, on, over or in your desk that are at least as worth seeing!
Feel free to send us a picture of your case to [email protected] and leave your nickname and write a few words about it. Perhaps a component has driven you insane or you are particularly proud of a special component.
If we get enough submissions, we’ll publish the cases in an extra article on GameStar Tech!
