Without warning, Microsoft has made a strong announcement for its Xbox Game Pass, welcoming a big new feature that could change a lot of things.
Already available on various platforms, both on PC and Xbox Series or even on compatible TVs, Amazon’s Firestick TV or even the cloud, Xbox Game Pass opens another door to the clouds. In fact, Microsoft has surprisingly announced a brand partnership with another flagship in cloud gaming: NVIDIA.
Xbox Game Pass is available on another little green cloud
Starting today, Xbox Game Pass includes NVIDIA’s very popular cloud gaming solution: GeForce NOW. Continuing its policy of opening its service to as many media as possible, Microsoft is therefore joining forces with Team Verte in the gaming space in a cloud. This will allow players to access all the titles in the catalog, provided they have a PC Game Pass or GeForce NOW account. Unfortunately, support for this service is not yet possible on Xbox Series.
Players with exclusive titles for the Xbox ecosystem on Steam can also benefit, provided they link their Steam account to GeForce NOW through one or another of the subscriptions mentioned above. Same observation for those with a Microsoft account. In any case, all of this takes place on the Xbox.com website. Keep in mind that this integration currently only affects PC. This is not supported on Microsoft consoles, nor in the Xbox TV application. However, this could happen later, even if Xbox Cloud Gaming is already a solid solution in this sense.
Also remember that the price of Microsoft’s service has gone up. The PC version of Xbox Game Pass is now available for 11.99 dollars per month. The GeForce NOW page shows the Priority offer at 10.99 dollars per month. However, the cheapest plan remains the Ultimate plan, which is offered at 21.99 dollars per month. However, NVIDIA is currently offering summer promotions that reduce the monthly cost of both subscriptions by 50%.
