EA has announced the name of the new Battlefield studio: Ridgeline Games. Led by Marcus Lehto, best known for the Xbox Halo franchise, he will be responsible for developing a single-player campaign.
Battlefield 2042 holds its ground and is still not dead, but the license’s image is still tarnished. Not to mention all the exits in ruins. And to raise the bar, EA has opened a new studio, the first details of which have just arrived.
The Halo co-creator in a single player Battlefield campaign
After the failure of Disintegration, Marcus Lehto, co-creator of Halo, found refuge at Electronic Arts and not just kind of. He took on the role of boss and game director of a new studio. It’s official Ridgeline Games. His mission? Focus on the narrative dimension of the franchise that EA wants to push.
Marcus Lehto and his colleagues will even have the delicate task of helping to revive this aspect a single player campaign set in the BF universe. An autonomous solo? A campaign in the next multiplayer opus? The answer is no for now.
It is a great honor to have the opportunity to work with both DICE and Ripple Effect and to be tasked with expanding what is possible in terms of storytelling, story development and character development in the Battlefield series.
